    Background


    After the 1985 communist uprising on Sahrani the ruling monarch King Juan II was overthrown and the Kingdom of Sahrani was abolished, with the remaining royalists fleeing into exile. The new People's Republic of Sahrani quickly aligned itself with the Soviet Union, much to the anger of the United States. During the next years many covert operations were launched by NATO countries to attempt a destabilization of the new communist government, but to no avail. After the fall of the Soviet Union interest in the island slowly declined, and relations between the PRS and Western nations were mostly normalized. Due to the formation of CSAT and the possible admission of Russia into this alliance, the island suddenly became an object of interest to NATO once more. It was decided that Operation Kingmaker would be launched, a NATO-sponsored invasion of Sahrani by royalist exiles and supporting PMC forces. The goal of this operation is the reestablishment of a Western aligned Kingdom of Sahrani and the pacification of any communist sympathizers.

    Briefing for STAF Operators


    Yesterday on the 25th of March phase I of Operation Kingmaker was launched. STAF Operators and Royal Sahrani forces successfully sabotaged several enemy military installations on the islands and managed to capture a beachhead at Santa Lucia. The Royal Sahrani Army now has control over the northernmost sector of the islands, however we expect that communist partisan guerillas will continue to operate behind our active front lines as well.

    Current strategic situation on the island

    Your job is to support the Royal Army in securing their military objectives and perform COIN operations when needed. As hearts and minds are an important part of this campaign try not to antagonize the locals too much, otherwise they might be tempted to take up arms. During your stay on Sahrani you will be based at the Santa Lucia military FOB, your bodypillows and baked bean collections will be shipped over ASAP.
