    okay... V2 is probably a lie but lets just get into the topic.

    Last Week I announced that I want to rework our mod set. The reason is, that we continue encounter issues on our server and I want to do something about that. A reorganization of our mods seems to be a good part. With the reorganization we achieved a more modular, cleaner and clearer list of mods. One downside of this is that you don't launch one mod containing many individual mods anymore, but all those individual mods separately. This can, especially in the beginning, lead to issues because there might be that one mod a member didn't load. Analysing these issues will be a bit trickier. However, I did my best to make it as simple as possible.


    Before the Modlist looked like this:

    Note the two extra folders inside STAF Main. These folders include the individual mods that used to be in "@STAF_Misc" and "@STAF_PMC". Here is a Screenshot of how it looks with "STAF PMC" opened:

    Without further specified by the Game Master / Zeus / Mission Creator you'll just launch all these Mods during a normal PMC mission. This is how a usual Modset could look like:

    You see, it is really not that hard to get used to the changes and I'm sure even the daftest of you will be able to accommodate.


    Most of the big mods (CUP and RHS) are untouched and will not redownload. However this Update is still around 20 GB big. Keep that in mind and download it asap.


    Aside from that we did use the opportunity to remove some mods from the Modlist. I'll not further specify which mods. Its mostly bloat that was rarely used, where locked behind keybinds nobody used anyway. We did remove some accessory and uniform mods. It can be that a few of your loadouts don't work properly anymore. We are sorry for that, however we tried to only remove those mods we think nobody used. If there is a high demand for a specific uniform mod then let me know and I'll look into it. You can hop on the training server to test and modify your loadouts.

    The Mod "GRAD Civilians" was moved to "STAF Utilities" and should only be used if ambient civilians are wanted.


    Last but not least, we did add a few mods as well. Maybe you can spot which ones don't feel familiar. If you cant...that further proofs our point. ;)


    In total we removed 35 Mods and added 5. So we are a total of 30 mods lighter. Nothing much in the grand scheme but a good start.


    One last thing. If you have existing missions it can be that this change CAN break them. If that is the case: Contact me, send me the mission and I'll try to fix it.


    I hope you like these changes as much as we do. We can be more open about our mod selection, update the mods easier and find troublesome mods quicker. The other Repos will receive these changes as well.....some other day. Let us know what you think of these changes!

    For the past couple of years the small Island of Altis just on the west coast of Greek is a boiling point for aggression in the Mediterranean and is used as a play ground for a feud between the NATO states lead by the Americans and a coalition of many States under the name of CSAT with the help of the local military forces called AAF. After CSAT was driven off the island by NATO the AAF was forced to capitulate.

    Since then a high presence of NATO and mainly US Forces on the island has been a constant picture. More and more Altians are feeling that the NATO troupes overstate their welcome and become frustrated by constantly being searched and have to go though checkpoints on their daily commutes. The FIA - a Guerilla force aiming to give back the control of Altis to its citizens - once was an ally to the NATO troupes during the happenings in the early 2030s. After the NATO-CSAT peace talks the FIA began to shrink and ultimately disband. Now with new frustration rising a new FIA has formed and it is more radical than before. They actively attack NATO and AAF on a daily basis.


    The island was parted in the middle. The western side with its capitol of Kavala is controlled by NATO and the eastern and smaller side is controlled by the AAF. While the AAF has a linnet hand on the citizens and refrains from house searchings and checkpoints NATO is the polar opposite. They insist on following any radical and terrorist intel even if it has no actual ground. AAF and NATO are hit by FIA attacks the same though.




    Briefing


    "We have been contracted by AAF and the Altian government. They need us to track down on FIA activity on the Island of Altis and persecute the .... of terrorist acts against NATO, AAF and their supporters. Apparently they want to win the hearts of the Altian population and want to come out as the winner in the discussion if Altis needs NATO or AAF. To achieve this they refrain from shooting their citizens whenever they can. Thats where we come into play. We are not Altians and therefore we are free to shoot them down it seems. That also means, we are fairly open in what we do. So lets hunt some western terrorists." - Turumai Maru

    Thirsk was once part of Finnland but had to be ceded after WW2. Its ownership was given to the Soviet Union. During the 2009 escalations in Chernarus the Island was a prime target for NATO occupation due to its close location to allies and enemies.


    In 2010 NATO Forces took over the island with an invasion force by the Royal British Navy and since then British Troops are stationed in multiple location on the island.




    Briefing


    "We are on the other side this time. Russians are fed up with British soldiers on 'their' soil. We have been hired by Moscow to weaken the British Defenses on the Island to open up an opportunity for the Russians to take back what was once theirs.


    At first we need to disrupt their communications on the eastern part of the Island. When this is done we need to make sure that the Russian invasion force isn't spotted before they arrive. Locate and destroy a mobile radar site some where on the eastern part of the Island. Last but not least we need to weaken their supplies. In the south they have a warehouse full of equipment. Destroy the equipment and take out all guarding troops. There will be no exfill. Get away unseen or get rid of your follower and find a quite spot where you can stay and wait for further instructions. I'd suggest the south eastern peninsula.


    There is guards and patrols all across the Island so stay sharp.


    We don't have a lot of time with this one. We will start deploying you on the 28th of January and want you gone by the 29th of January. This should be an easy thing if you keep concentrated and work together as a team....so knowing you this will end horribly.
